This piece of plastic toy was a gift given to me by my father on my first birthday. Of course it is not the same one. It is highly unlikely that it would have survived for more than a quarter of a century.
But I had it for a long time. Long enough to remember every geometry of it. And when I saw the same toy selling on Amazon, I just couldn’t believe my eyes. I ordered it the very next moment. I can’t believe how they still manufacture to this day. A day and age where the order is set by Chinese manufacturers, an Indian company called Funskool somehow managed to continue to produce this car for 30 odd years.
I think the reason is same as the reason why I bought this in the first place. Nostalgia.
See, Funskool is owned by MRF since 1987. So I bet this would be the last toy that they would ever manufacture if they were to close their business.
